Mayré Martínez
Mayré Martínez is my stage name. My full name is too long.
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. My father is Venezuelan and my mother is Cuban. I consider myself Venezuelan-Cuban: because my mother and grandparents made sure that I got to know and enjoy my Cuban roots as well as my Venezuelan ones.
I have had the immense fortune of making a living as a singer, composer and actress since I was 15 years old; although I sang, danced and performed in front of hundreds of people since I was 5 years old at school and in concerts at the conservatory where I studied music, singing, flute and piano.
At a very early age I also discovered my passion for teaching singing and created my own singing method, which I have been able to teach online to hundreds of thousands of people around the world on my platform www.elartedecantar.com.
When I won the first season of Latin American Idol my life changed completely in every way. I recorded an album under the Sony-BMG label called Soy Mi Destino.
Then, independently, I produced and released the album La Reina de la Noche and the EP My Black and Blanco with songs of my own, both with great musicians and producers. Later I composed a song dedicated to my country called Mi ‘Amada Venezuela” and recorded a very personal interpretation of my country’s anthem on the piano.
Soy mi Destino (Jon Secada), La Reina de la Noche (William Luque) and Vivir Sin Ti (Mayré Martínez) are songs that allowed me to tour several countries in South America, North America and Europe.
Vivir Sin Ti and Hay una Voz gave me the happiness of winning the awards for Best Song for Television at the ASCAP Latin Music Awards, as well as the ASCAP Music Film and TV Awards, respectively.
After moving to Los Angeles, California, I had the opportunity to continue my career as a singer, vocal coach and actress not only in front of the cameras but also behind the scenes, working hand in hand with great producers, such as musical visionary, Humberto Gatica, known for producing Celine Dion, Michael Bubble, Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo, Whitney Houston, just to mention a few.
In 2019 thanks to a very special version of Amorfoda (Bad Bunny), Mi Gente (J Balvin), Mi Tierra (Gloria Estefan), Mi Perro Fiel (Shakira and Nicky Jam) again my career took a big turn in the first season of La Voz US. Months later I had the opportunity to record and compose a special song for the 2020 Rose Bowl with renowned producer, Emilio Estefan.
In 2022, another of my biggest dreams came true when I recorded the song Y, ¿Si Fuera Ella? composed by Alejandro Sanz, salsa version, produced by the musical genius Sergio George, who has produced great salsa stars such as Marc Anthony, Celia Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, Prince Royce, La India, DLG, among many others.
Currently, I have many projects that excite me a lot, I will continue to tell you about them here and of course through my social networks.
